Car belongs to a friend of the family and I’ve agreed to show and sell for them. 138k miles, serviceable tires, struts and brakes. Other condition issues as captured in the pictures below. Drives well. Oil leak at the front of the engine and oil smokes after driving the car. Needs a muffler. Some kind of aftermarket stereo. Yes, that’s duct tape around the base of the driver sideview mirror. A/C blows cold. Great starter car for a 17-year-old, says I.
Where would you price it on Craigslist?

List it for 1200, take 1000

$1500 at most. Were it manual, you could probably push it to $2000, but I can attest from personal experience the automatic pushes away a lot of the market.

List for $1700. Hope for $1500. Settle for $1200.

What the heck happened to the seats? How does that happen after only 137,000?

$1000 max in my opinion. For reference, I bought a manual ‘99, 105k, with all maintenance records for $1500.

90s Honda leather was terrible.

Considering the seats, and the hood... I’d say $1000 is what you can expect. If the seats were ok, it could bring $1500. List it for $1300.

Probably

I’d price it at $1500 and expect to take a little bit less, on the baseline of any car that runs and drives it probably worth $1000 and $1500 if it also blows cold air at you.

I was going to say $1000-1500. Looks like I was in the ballpark. I think you’ll be lucky to get $1000.

I’m thinking a grand also.

Yes, I’d say the cold A/C is worth $200 by itself.

But A/C... Otherwise, agreed.

That might mean more in TX.

It gets nice and warm around here...

This is late 90's early 2000's AC though. It’s not great.

Agreed. Not great.

For reference I bought a 98 Civic LX in Greensboro a year or two ago for $500. Running and driving. Since this is an Integra with the DOHC motor I think $1,000 should be obtainable.

That is definitely consistent with the opinions expressed here. I think $200 of that is owed to the functioning AC. My initial inclination was price it to sell at $700.

How close is it to needing a timing belt? That will be another big factor.

Not sure. For all I know, 50k miles overdue. If I were buying the car, I’d bring it home and install a timing belt.
